Autumn Term 2017

See below have attached a programme of study to give a brief outline of the intended areas of study in Year 3. Home learning will be given to the children every Friday and will be collected in on the following Wednesday. The task set will relate to work covered in English, Maths or Topic during the week. If your child is having any difficulties completing the work set, please drop me a note or call in to see me and I will be happy to provide them with some extra help. As part of the children’s ongoing home learning they will be asked to practise their times tables and spellings. It would also be of great benefit for your child to read for at least 10 minutes each day with an adult. Reading will be monitored on a regular basis so I ask you to sign the children’s reading record books every time you hear them read. Rewards will be given to children as and when they complete enough reads within our ‘Reading Challenge’ reward system.

Our P.E session is on Friday; please ensure that your child has full P.E kit in school on this day. An outdoor kit will be required as the winter months draw in. Please also ensure that earrings are removed on these days, as we cannot remove children’s earrings due to health and safety regulations.

Water Bottles

Children should be provided with water bottles which they will have access to throughout the day, should they need refreshment. However, I would like to request that only plain water is provided. Sports type lids are preferable, as there is less potential for spillage.

If you have questions concerning any of the above, or wish to meet with me regarding your child, please make an appointment at the office.
