I am married to Brian, and we have three sons all of whom are past pupils of the school.

I was born in Ipswich and, after leaving school there, worked for a clearing bank in both Ipswich and Colchester for fifteen years before the birth of our oldest son. It was upon his admission to the Foundation class in September 1991 that my association with Parsons Heath School began.

Initially I was a volunteer parent helper – in class, in the library, on outings and helping pupils in the school swimming pool.

I became a midday assistant in 1998 and a teaching assistant in 2000 and continue to enjoy both these roles today.

I was a Parent Governor for four years from January 2001 until January 2005 after which I served as an Associate Member for a short period before my appointment as a Foundation Governor in April 2005. When this term of office expired in April 2009 I once again became an Associate Member of the Governing Body.

I am an active member of St. Matthews Church where my regular duties, on a rota basis, include sidesperson, intercessor, reading the lesson and assisting with Junior Church. I also prepare and print the parish’s weekly news sheet and monthly prayer diaries.

I enjoy watching most sports, boxing being a notable exception, and have a particular interest in cricket at club and county level, where my husband and sons are active participants.

When time allows I also enjoy the quieter more solitary pastimes of reading, tapestry, cross-stitch, knitting and attempting to solve cryptic crossword puzzles.
