Abi Newman

I am originally from Kettering in Northamptonshire but moved to this area with my husband Steve after graduating from the University of East Anglia.

 

I have been a teacher at Parsons Heath Primary School since my NQT year and in that time have taught Year 2 and Year 5. I am on the Senior Management Team and have completed my ‘Fast Track Teaching’ course. At present I am the co-ordinator of ‘Communication, Language and Literacy’ and ‘Community Cohesion’.

 

I decided to become a Teacher Governor so that I could provide the Governing Body with an insight into what is happening within the classroom. It has also been a brilliant opportunity to make closer linked with parents and other members of the local community. I have been warmly welcomed by everyone on the Governing Body and together we are dedicated to making positive improvements to our school.
